Welcome aboard: DON VITO

We are happy to give ourselves an early Christmas gift. Don Vito, the noiserock-thunderstorm from Leipzig, and Discorporate join forces.
Right in the midst of their China-Tour (!!!) they contacted us (while we were in the United States… god bless the globalization) and after taking a sip of water and breathing some fresh air, we said “Hell, yes!!!”.
In April 2010 Discorporate will release their new longplayer “IV” with ten new songs in a 180gms 12” vinyl (incl. a CD of the songs).
Believe us, you’ll be blown away by the sheer vehemence and conciseness of these pieces.
“It’s like getting a beating from a ball lightning.”

ROKKO takes the gloves off
You might have recognized that we offer the fabulous Austrian magazine ROKKO’S ADVENTURES in our shop for cheap.
Until not every kiosk in Europe has this in stock (at least in Austria it’s available everywhere now… congrats!), we continue. ROKKO has released two new issues. The first one is a special issue in english language that focuses on one band: THE MELVINS. Rokko wrote his thesis in musicology about them and the issue is filled with lots of interesting information, interviews and theories.
The second one is Rokko’s Adventures No. 6, including a fine cd-sampler of the amazing label/collective KNERTZ from West Germany. It also features a superb poster of the Austrian band BUL BUL and lots of articles, reviews and stories about music, arts, science, animals and blablablubbs.
Get them in our shop, don’t waste your time reading blogs or these “news”.
Check it out: www.rokkosadventures.at
Btw: I know, I say “amazing” far too often…
New DŸSE-page

www.dyse.info
After 6 weeks of touring Europe and after the release of a new longplayer on Exile On Mainstream, Jari and André don’t think about taking a break.
They have launched a new homepage (yeah, there is more than MySpace out there) with lots of infos and stuff you might find interesting.
Apart from that they already have plans for 2010, including a Scandinavian and Eastern Europe Tour… and the release of a new Discorporate-special-5″ with two new songs.
The amazing show of DŸSE and SCHNAAK in Jena (Kassablanca, Dec 4th) was recorded by Mureis Industries with 6 cameras and you can expect a release in 2010 too.

Jon Pfeffer’s “LICORICE” + Skeletons-Big-Band in New York
This sunday December 6th those people who are fortunate to live in NEW YORK CITY have the opportunity to witness a very special night.
Capillary Action’s trombone whiz Sam Kulik is curating The Stone (this is the club of a guy named JOHN ZORN) for the first half of December.
Sam graciously invited Capillary Action‘s mastermind Jonathan Pfeffer to take part in the festivities. Since they will share the bill with the amazing (!!!) SKELETON$ in their big band format, Jon thought he’d cook up something special for the occasion as well.
So, Jon is premiering the first two sections from a new large ensemble piece LICORICE for piano, accordion, contrabass, hammered dulcimer, two violins, cello, trombone, trumpet, two flutes, oboe, tenor sax, two alto voices, one tenor and two percussionists that night. In addition to a few familiar Cap-Action faces (Spencer, Sam and Ricardo), there are some amazing musicians taking part in the “LICORICE”-performance:
Mike Gallope- Piano, Accordion
Spencer Russell- Contrabass
Jeff Young- Violin
Rebecca Schlappich- Violin
Caleigh Drane- Cello
Max Zbiral-Teller- Hammered Dulcimer
Sam Kulik- Trombone
Tim Byrnes- Trumpet
Zachary Crystal- Percussion
Ricardo Lagomasino- Percussion
Leah Paul- Flute
Martha Cargo- Flute
Johnny Butler- Tenor Sax
Karisa Werdon- Oboe
Danielle Khulmann- Alto Voice

TBA- Tenor Voice

This special show will be recorded, no worries.
There are some vague plans to release “LICORICE” in the future. Maybe a nice EP. Who knows?
ALTIN VILLAGE & DISCORPORATE join forces
It’s unbelievable… since 7 years we live in Dresden and we didn’t know about Altin Village all the time and they didn’t know about us. We had the chance to meet each other some weeks ago for the first time… love at first sight. We strongly recommend checking out this awesome DIY-Vinyl-Label from Dresden at altinvillage.de. In the future we’ll work together on local shows… and now the first record-collaboration is about to happen:
End of March 2010 Discorporate releases the amazing dark folk album “Suckle at the Supple Teats of Time” by DEAD WESTERN on cd. Altin Village will release the vinyl-version! Booking (tour in June/July 2010) and promotion will be done by Southern Germany.
In our eyes this is an awesome alliance… expect some great things from Altin Village and Discorporate in the future… and check out DEAD WESTERN.
DISCORPORATE goes JAPAN

We are happy to announce that the fine label/distributor MOOR WORKS (Anathallo, Oneida, Parts&Labor etc.) will license the releases of THE SEASON STANDARD, THE ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB and CAPILLARY ACTION in Japan. Hooray!
NICE PRICE @ Discorporate Shop
We slowly pay our tribute to the financial crisis and that’s why we make it easier for you to purchase Discorporate-releases. Take a look at our SHOP!
THE PATH TO NEW GILBATHIN
Good things come to those who wait.
Since many years this children’s tale was growing in the head of Martin Ketelhut. Fragments and little pieces of this moving story about the two brothers Elias and Gilbathin are to be found in every little inch of every little Zonnhaider’s Club song.
It’s always been the dream of Martin to bring the pieces together and with the help of friends (amongst others the paintress Katharina Sieg and bandmate Christoph Höfferl) he finally realized “The Path To New Gilbathin”. Produced and directed by Martin Ketelhut at Bauhaus-University Weimar for Experimental Radio.
You can hear the radio play on the Gilbathin homepage: www.thezonnhaidersclub.de/gilbathin
Although “The Path To New Gilbathin” is in english (spoken by Germans… even kids who don’t speak english), you have the opportunity to watch it with German subtitles.
In addition to the radio play The Zonnhaider’s Club is about to record “Gilbathin’s Opera“, an album of 10 songs that refer to the radio play’s story and moods. These songs are sung by the protagonists Elias (Christopher Schön) and Gilbathin (Cornelius Ochs, www.myspace.com/connyochs) themselves.
“Gilbathin’s Opera” will be released in 2010 at Discorporate Records, featuring the paintings of Katharina Sieg and the music of Martin Ketelhut.
Welcome aboard: DEAD WESTERN

We open a new chapter of this crazy adventure called Discorporate. Sometimes coincidents make this world a brighter place. Not even two weeks ago our dear friend Jon Pfeffer (Capillary Action) wrote me a mail expressing his admiration for this guy from Sacramento, California.
I probably can’t express this moment when I saw this live-video of Dead Western. It was a mixture of numbness, trance, anxiety and pure rapture. The atmosphere and voice of Troy Mighty transport something I’ve never heard before, but in the same time speaks a language that we understand or at least pretend to understand very clear. Freedom to Chaos?
Therefore Discorporate, a label that seems to be devoted to Noise, Math and Jazz, is endlessly happy to announce the signing of this intense American band that you could describe as “Deep dark psychedelic folk”. Troy – the singer, songwriter and mastermind behind Dead Western – was such a sweetheart from the beginning of our contact. He seems to share the same visions, the same strange balance between despair and hope, melancholy and joy, sensitivity and strength… it feels like meeting an old friend from another world.
„Soften Your Screams Into Sings“ is the name of the latest record of Dead Western. This pretty much gives the idea of what it’s all about. Troy Mighty has already recorded a new full-length record with the help of Kevin Corcoran (percussion), Caley Monahon-Ward of “Extra Life” (violin) and Jesse Phillips (bass guitar). This record will be released by Discorporate in Spring 2010 under the name “Suckle at the Supple Teats of Time”. We had the pleasure to prelisten the new songs… no doubt: This is something special. In the same period we already plan some touring in the Old World, to be announced soon.

ZAPPANALE FESTIVAL – Discorporate Invasion
From August 12th-16th this lovely festival, dedicated to the work and art of Frank Zappa and located at the beautiful Baltic Sea, has to deal with an invasion of Discorporate Freaks.
…Schnaak, The Season Standard, Zarboth, Tarentatec, The Zonnhaider’s Club, Osis Krull and Gnarled Bikers. We are happy to host our friends Mukra, Beagl Vieh, Christian Buchmann, Tonlast and many more on our stage as well.
The mainstage will feature some interesting acts as well: WeInsist (yay!!!), Terry Bozzio, Gong, Sebkha Chott, Project/Object and The Grandmothers for example.
DŸSE – New Album / Tour / Metall
After the two guys have betrayed EXILE ON MAINSTREAM RECORDS with a badass 5”-release at Discorporate, DŸSE finally release their second longplayer on their mothership.
“Lieder sind Brüder der Revolution” will be released October 9th 2009 on Exile On Mainstream / Southern Records. We had the pleasure to prelisten the stuff… and guess what: It’s amazing, thrilling and funny at the same time.
But as betrayal never ends, we already got plans for another 5”-release, to come in 2010. It’ll be called “Metall” and it’s gonna suck, as usual.
