ZA! are two multi-instrumentalist polymaths from Catalonia. This multilayer supersonic-orchestra combines African beats, noise, math rock, vocal-loops, free jazz, analogue electronics, sounds
from the shepherds of Tuva, Balinese polyrhythms, Mauritanian trip hop, Dadaism, distortion, dance and drones – “POST WORLDMUSIC” may be the name of this danceable hybrid. This music is made for the stages and magical moments of gatherings, but if you hear their brandnew effort “MEGAFLOW” on the other side you will be amazed how much sense this makes on recordings as well.
BROKEN.HEART.COLLECTOR
Vienna/Kranj

www.majaosojnik.com/broken.htm
broken.heart.collector is the project of the Austrian superband BULBUL, clarinetist Susanna Gartmayer and Slovenian artist/singer Maja Osojnik.
Spacious and wide pro-anti-compositions of brusque elegance – artful, rough, industrial, gaudy, emotional and cynical, but with the perfect dose of sparkling eruptions that we know and love from BULBUL, plus the haunting and dark timbre of Maja, who tells severe and less severe sad, brutal, gloomy, seldom geographical, unreliable, no, this cannot be true, short stories.
DEAD WESTERN

DEAD WESTERN is TROY MIGHTY, who demands to live. This is the soundtrack to your fever dreams. Songs that sound like they have been here for hundred years, music you can hide within and brave the world outside. And you might need to climb in a wooden horse to get to the heart of this DEAD WESTERN.
SCHNAAK
Berlin

Two tip-toe sounds from afar in the dark, the two that call themselves SCHNAAK. They make fire from amplifiers, They know how to do that, cause they are smart… and they cook human flesh over it, nicely. SCHNAAK has lived up and loves weird hip-hop beats and stylish African rhythms, though still working deep down in a factory of noise, but adjusting their machines nicely to sing along.
DON VITO
Leipzig
www.myspace.com/donvitorocktDON VITO – advanced noise creators and one of the neatest outfits there are. Hardly anyone in that genre has accomplished a tighter match of two antagonisms – chaos and structure.
A monstrous maelstrom from Eastern Germany, pushing the concept of “Noise” to a new level of forcefulness… at times very danceable. Their latest record “IV” is a brute piece of greatness.
THE SEASON STANDARD
Berlin

www.theseasonstandard.com /
www.myspace.com/theseasonstandard
THE SEASON STANDARD was the most idiosyncratic way to blow up a ballroom. The “perfect band”, if you ask us. Here you go!
AHA!
TARENTATEC
(aka “Aufrichtiges Zappa” in their Zappa-Freakshow-Bigband-Outfit)
Dresden
www.tarentatec.de / www.myspace.com/tarentatecRising from hypnotic sessions, a motley collection of different song structures evolves. In the diverting to epic songs of Tarentatec you can find elements of postpunk, noise and jazz, which they interweave intuitively anew. The trio oscillates between widescreen sound and minimalism; instrumental short stories and dry rock’n’rolling; snapshot and steamroller. Musical patterns are being reflected by all members – own ways within rock music are being explored. Besides, the way of Tarentatec, if there is any direction, is always a tightrope walk between convention and the unreserved search for freedom.
DŸSE
Jena/Berlin
www.dyse.info / www.myspace.com/dysexxxProbably the best live-band on earth, twisted Noisecore-duo DŸSE transmute every venue into a jubilating drop of sweat. In Middle-Europe yet an established sensation, with clubs bursting at the seams, those two nice energetic guys are coming to get all of you!
CAPILLARY ACTION
Philadelphia
www.myspace.com/capillaryactionCapillary Action songs never sit still and do what you expect: They bend, stretch, fall apart and come back together, only to fall apart again. On three very different recordings, composer/guitarist Jonathan Pfeffer has drawn upon a wide range of influences to create dense, catchy and deeply personal compositions that mesmerize as much as they challenge. The NY-based band has toured relentlessly, playing over 450 shows across the US, Canada and Europe alongside the reunited Shudder To Think, Joe Lally (Fugazi), Dirty Projectors, Les Claypool, Beirut, Mike Watt, Daughters and Ruins among others.
GNARLED BIKERS
Jena

large-m.de / Gnarled Bikers hate MySpace
Jazz-percussions meet the Fender Rhodes. Krishan Zeigner and Lars Mäurer (both in Charlie Bucket Trio&, Wise In Time and Feindrehstar) are one musical organ, creating groovy complex and improvised jazz-hop-tunes. Find yourself in trance or nodding your head. No rehearsals! Strictly impro!
OSIS KRULL
THE ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB
Weimar
www.thezonnhaidersclub.de / www.myspace.com/thezclubBeing the last offshoot of the French Revolution and the Ages of Enlightment, THE ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB goes its most sensitive step: Retreat!
In its non-representative function the club is mostly exercising a nomadic tradition of the mosaic. Not holding on to a theme, form or style, THE ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB is an amoeba and in the permanent process of becoming, there is nothing else to do than stepping aside from identity.
ZARBOTH
Paris
www.myspace.com/zarbothRising from the sophisticated underground of Paris, Etienne Gaillochet (of We Insist!) and Phil Reptil (from Osteti) stumbled together for a blindfold project full of twisted rhythm, beautiful yelling and playful staccati. Yes, dear people! Another crazy duo. Interweaving Jazz, Rock, Noise and Pantera. A hell of a lot fun. A journey. A glimpse. Or to say it in Bill Hicks’ words: “It’s just a ride!” So is Zarboth.
