“When emotional subjectivity and rational objectivity cut sharply through eachother in a person’s mind, they either have a problem or a big advantage. Without knowing it for sure one can assume that the latter is the case in this project. Their technical perfection doesn't’ drown in emotionless constructs, it rather strengthens the atmosphere of the music. The Season Standard is both uncompromising and manifold at the same time. […]
The progressive rock of these musicians who are all in their twenties, is quirky and complex beyond recognition – a construct that asks for a delicate perception. Yet every song comes across shamelessly easy going and convincing even live.[…]
Positivity is not only found in this, their music also makes sense.“

"Well! Where do jazz and hardcore shake hands? The band The Season standard has entirely succeeded this probably rather atypical coalescence. The quartet, that is making music since 1995, constructs energetic songs that reminds by their complexity rather of higher mathematics than of instrument-bashing in the back door. Above all, drummer Simon Beyer with his complicated rhythms draws direct parallels to Math/Progrock classics like Don Caballero or Tera Melos and singer Mathias Jähnig supports this thunderstorm splendidly by his jazzy guitar parts which pull the whole again in the direction of Jaga Jazzist."
