THE SEASON STANDARD (Berlin)

Homepage

www.theseasonstandard.com / www.myspace.com/theseasonstandard

The schizophrenic stepsisters Mathcore and Freejazz progressively rape the
Contemporary Funk, coincidentally grooving by. As if that wasn’t enough already,
they fraternise, walking forward hand in hand through the thicket towards full
euphoria and yet only deeper inside the winding construct. And if you were to
look back, you would see landscape, the tracks would have long been covered up.
Their music combines elements of Mathcore with funk passages and esthetically
sounding components of the jazz and electronic genre. Playful rhythms meet
lost melodic paths to coalesce in the next moment and devote themselves to
the expressive. The singing leads through the thicket right to instantaneously
danceable euphoria.

CAPILLARY ACTION (New York/Philadelphia)

Capillary Action songs never sit still and do what you expect:
They bend, stretch, fall apart and come back together, only to fall apart again.
On three very different recordings,composer/guitarist Jonathan Pfeffer
has drawn upon a wide range of influences to create dense, catchy and deeply
personal compositions that mesmerize as much as they challenge.
The Seattle-based band has toured relentlessly, playing over 300 shows across
the U.S., Canada and Europe alongside the reunited Shudder To Think,
Joe Lally (Fugazi), Dos (Mike Watt and Kira Roessler), Daughters, Ruins and
31Knots, among others.

[Note: DŸSE still releases major-outputs with Exile On Mainstream Records!!!]

ZARBOTH (Paris)

Homepage

www.myspace.com/zarboth

Rising from the sophisticated underground of Paris, Etienne Gaillochet
(drummer of Paris finest We Insist!) and Phil Reptil (jack of all trades in
matters of guitar-madness) stumbled together for a blindfold project full of
twisted rhythm, beautiful yelling and playful staccati.
Yes, dear people! Another crazy duo. Interweaving Jazz, Rock, Noise and Pantera.
A hell of a lot fun. A journey. A glimpse. Or to say it in Bill Hicks' words:
It’s just a ride! So is Zarboth.

Smash the drum-bucket-afro kit and play the guitar.
5 days in the boomy room... with my favorite pet.
Evolved from a foggy crackpot-idea, Johannes Döpping (Tarentatec, Osis Krull)
and Mathias Jähnig (The Season Standard) join forces to create a monstrous noise-duo.

THE ZONNHAIDER'S CLUB (Weimar)

Homepage

www.thezonnhaidersclub.de / www.myspace.com/thezclub

Being the last offshoot of the French Revolution and the Ages of Enlightment,
the ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB goes its most sensible step: Retreat!
“Lay down the illusion of a representative majority!” (Christopher Schön,
on the 12th of June, 1983)
“Cosmopolitans, lay down the heavy coat of universalism, it doesn’t fit the
world and it is itchy like hell!” (Martin Ketelhut, on the 5th of June, 1985).
In its non-representative function the ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB is mostly exercising
a nomadic tradition of the mosaic. Not holding on to one theme, form or style,
the ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB is like an amoeba. It invites to get gobbled up
from all around, to become stranger and doing so, to honour an everlasting formation.
In the permanent process of becoming, for the ZONNHAIDER’S CLUB there is nothing
else to do but stepping aside from identity.

TARENTATEC (Dresden)

Homepage

www.tarentatec.de / www.myspace.com/tarentatec

Rising from hypnotic sessions, a motley collection of different song
structures evolves. In the diverting to epic songs of Tarentatec you can find
elements of postrock, stoner, noise, psychedelic, elektronika and jazz,
which they interweave intuitively anew.
The trio/quartet/big-band oscillates between widescreen sound and minimalism;
instrumental short stories and dry rock'n'rolling; snapshot and steamroller.
Musical patterns are being reflected by all members – own ways within rock music
are being explored. Besides, the way of Tarentatec, if there is any direction,
is always a tightrope walk between convention and the unreserved search for freedom.
Regarding content, Tarentatec is the muddled look at their own environment,
the contradictions and doubts, but also the affectionate consideration of friendship
and pleasure – in a constant dialog between head and belly.

OSIS KRULL (Planet: Osis Krull, Temporary residence: Dresden)

Homepage

www.myspace.com/osiskrull

From the still here rather unknown planet Osis Krull these four intergalactic Bollos
have run aground on strange planet earth trying to reach after a possibility again home.
In addition they try to unearth as much as possible Möpp, their quite special fuel.
It is almost too easy to classify the musical style of Osis Krull:
It seems they got stuck in between Jazz, Rock, Country, Postrock, Doom, Porno,
Stoner, Latin, Math, Pop, Metal, Polka and Schlager, so you better remember
this melange going by the name STARKROCK.
