DISCORPORATE RECORDS and ALTIN VILLAGE & MINE are extremely proud to announce the signing of uprising Brooklyn-based phenomena BUKE AND GASE.

BUKE (byook) & GASE (gace) are Arone Dyer on the “buke” (a self-modified six-string former baritone ukulele) and Aron Sanchez on the “gase” (a guitar-bass hybrid of his own creation). Both of them play double duty, also mobilizing a small army of foot percussion. These instruments are then filtered through various pedals, amplifiers and homemade inventions to create a surprisingly complex sound. Dyer’s supermelodic vocal lines weave through the beautiful yet unwieldy musical matter, balancing light and dark, calamity and control. Their musical multi-tasking makes for live shows that are visually unexpected and sonically explosive.

The duo recently released the EP Function Falls under highest acclaim via their US-home Brassland, including the mellow single “Misshaping Introduction”, of which you may want to see the excellent video:

The band has just finished a widespread US-Tour with DEERHOOF and many headlining shows, plus showcases with FLYING LOTUS and DEATH GRIPS in New York. Arone and Aron have been invited to perform at two (!) ATP-Festivals in December, one curated by SHELLAC and the other curated by THE NATIONAL (both bands are admirers of Buke and Gase) accompanied by a handful of UK-shows with DEERHOOF and THIS IS THE KIT. And you can bet your sweet ass that they’ll pay Europe a proper visit in 2013.

We are honored to release BUKE AND GASE’s anticipated follow-up of the amazing debut Riposte (2010). The name of this record will be… GENERAL DOME and it’s going to see the light of day in late February 2013. We already listened to its 13 tracks and we still don’t know what to say. Today Norwegian youngsters STAER kick-off their tour in Berlin! Tomorrow Release-Party with Stinking Lizaveta in Dresden at Ostpol, then off to Czechland, Hungaria, Slovenia, Switzerland, Spain, France, Netherlands and back to Germany and Norway. They’ll have their brandnew selftitled Discorporate-Release (including the Wooden Box Limited Edition) on the road and will deliver new jams as well. Be there!
